Flat Plans.

My flat plan for my film magazine front cover.

Unfortunatly these flat plans dont look very clear.
The masthead is 'THE VOICE' the logo to go with this is a picture of a mouth I thought this would be a good contrast seen as though the media is always talking about different celebrities in magazine's. This refers back to my initial target audience which are female. Now female like to talk and find out gossip and I wanted to make my magazine like this, but to try not to make it too much of a 'gossip' magazine and more a 'film'. My tag line is "the magazine's biggest mouth" and that is featured just under the masthead. I thought of this tag line as i was doing my audience research they told me that they liked a magazine to have a lot of gossip and interesting facts about film celebrities etc, espically women. So i encorpurated my own tag line to try and sell the magazine. I could do with some work on the font style of my text as it's plain and simple, I want to make it more feminine but to also target males as well but as much. So I'm going to stick with the colour shceme of red, black and white; as they aren't feminine colours or male. I could also do this by creating a more modern font on photoshop or scanning in my own font and adding changes to it later on in the process. The main Protagonist is framed on the left hand side with his arms corssed this provides so narrative information. By framing the main male character on the left hand side we know straight away that he has power in the narrative, but i have tried to leave a little white open space and framed a little to the right as well to suggest he might loose some power over another character. The background is going to be simple, either white or grey, but I want no props or effects added to it, I dont want it to look too busy. This will resemble my genre as logos and titles in professional Romantic Comedy Film's are very simple with a plain background. Framed on the right hand side of the page is the other two characters. Taigh's friend and Jess's gay friend. I want it to come across to the audience that they are looking at Taigh and over looking his life. Maybe Taigh is fed up as he will have his arms crossed in the actual picture. So one of them will be either looking at him and the other at the camera. If this doesnt work i think i might just have a medium shot of the mian protagonist- Taigh eith looking away from the character to provide some narrrative information and make the audience think he is shy, or hiding something. The logo of the film is featured in the middle of the page for the audience to reconise it and remember it. I have made the logo the same colour as the film title to make people reconise that it is a Romantic Comedy film magazine.
First Copy of Film Poster.

This is the first flat plan i did of my film poster. I wasn't sure how i was going to set it out so i looked at, "500 days of sumer", "Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging" and "Dear John". They were all quite simular. So i decided to take a few aspects from each one.

Second Flat Plan of Film Poster.
(pic of poster)
Here I have included the female protagonist as well as the male. I wanted them to be framed on the left hand side as they look together. They are smiling and almost laughing. This provides narrative information as it shows that they are at a point where they are happy and maybe forgetting the bad things which are about to happen. In Rom Com's a girl usually falls in love with the boy and can never let go. But using the binary oposition it's the other way around. I wanted the colours to be bright and vibrant. My colour scheme goes with the representation of the social groups as females. My logo is going to be a dust pink instead of a blue as i thought the blus presented the film more to males. Presenting to logo 'One Love' in pink colour font will put across to the audience which specific genre I have aimed my trailer at. From looking at professional examples of specific Rom Com genre film posters they all include film credits, normaly situated at the bottom of the poster. I realised that the main things they include are, actors, actresses, music, director, producer, hait and make up, costume desginer, special effects and most imporantly the release date. I have made my release date in a different colour to make it stand out so people can realise exactly when it is coming out. I want it the same colour font as the film title so it represents the rom com genre. I think the colours used reflect the mood of the reality looks I want my product to look like.
